F.A.Q's about SPMU

How long does the procedure take ?

The whole procedure takes approximately 2 hours from start to finish.  This includes numbing the area and discussing and designing the desired result.

How much does it hurt?

You will be fully numbed with an extremely effective anaesthetic cream before the procedure is started.  This will then be re-applied halfway through the treatment to ensure you are completely comfortable and pain is at a minimum.

Is a top-up always needed?

A  top-up is required nearly 100% of the time.  This is due to the scabbing of the treated area and some of the pigment being lost during this process.  This can result in patchy, uneven areas which need to be re-treated in order to gain a beautiful, even outcome that you are truly happy with.

How long does semi-permanent last?

This can vary from person to person, but generally, it can last for approximately 12 - 18 months before a top-up is needed.  This is due to a variety of factors including natural skin cell renewal, sun exposure, strong chemicals eg. swimming, face creams etc., which can result in colour loss.  The pigment never truly disappears but can fade over time.

Will I be happy with the result straight away?

The answer to this is usually no. After the first appointment the colour is freshly applied and can appear too dark for your colouring. This may get darker over the next 7-10 days but after the healing process has completed this will be replaced by the true colour that you will be left with.  The important thing is not to worry and to follow the guidelines, this will then turn into the beautiful eyebrows (or lips) that you imagined.

Can you tell me what happens after the procedure?

Immediately afterwards the depth of colour may scare you, as it may appear much darker than you anticipated.

Over the next week - 10 days as it heals the true colour will be revealed.  Don't be alarmed if it starts ti itch, flake or scab as this is the normal healing process.

Apply the cream provided every couple of hours on the day of treatment. Wash hands before and after to avoid infection. After this,, cream can be applied twice a day for the following five days.

Do not pick at any loose skin or scabbing.

Allow it to heal itself naturally.

For the first week avoid make-up on the treated area, avoid sun (including sunbeds), no jacuzzis, saunas or swimming pools,
Avoid getting soaps, shampoos and cleansers on the treated area and refrain from using serums or Retin-A creams.

You will soon see the beauty of your SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP.
